Canon PowerShot SX40 HS with 35x Optical Zoom

Canon has recently launched its newest superzoom camera, named PowerShot SX40 HS. This camera is the successor of the PowerShot SX30 IS which was launched in the early quarter of 2011.

Canon PowerShot SX40 HS has a range of up to 35x optical zoom. This camera is a first to use Canon DIGIC 5 image processor, which can facilitate users in taking pictures, although with very low light condition. By the manufacturer, the camera claimed is ideal for photographers who want the flexibility and convenience when taking pictures with long zoom range, but packed into a compact camera. Increasing the ability of the HS system is also done on these new cameras, offering a choice of more sophisticated shooting and supports Full HD video recording.

This camera use 1/2,3 inches CMOS sensor size with 12.1 megapixel resolution. PowerShot SX40 HS using 4.3-mm zoom lens – 150.5 mm lens equivalent to 24mm – 840mm on a 35mm format camera. This lens has a useful zoom range that starts at 24mm wide-angle and extends up to 840mm telephoto. 24mm ultra wide-angle allows you to produce images with a dramatic perspective and makes it easy to shoot sweeping landscapes, large group of people and tall buildings.

In addition also have lens with maximum aperture of F2,7 (wide-angle) and F5,8 (telephoto) also has the ability to digitally zoom up to 4x. Canon PowerShot SX40 HS also pinned with VCM (Voice Coil motors) technology for high-speed movement of the lens, quiet, energy saving with proper control.

PowerShot SX40 HS has 2.7 inch Vari-angle type LCD screen with 230,000 dots pixel resolution.
